Your business, just like the building your are in, requires a framework to keep it standing and ready to withstand the challenges of the outside (and sometimes internal)environment.
What makes up your organizations framework?
Here is a checklist of things to consider when evaluating the strength of your business framework.
Vision/Mission/Purpose – Do you have one and do you live to it?
Core Values – Have you defined and articulated them to your team?
Organizational Chart – Is the structure of your business mapped out to support enhanced communication?
Role Accountabilities – Does each member on the team fully understand how they are to contribute to the success of the business?
Business Plan – Are the main strategies and tactics focused and embraced by your team?
Sales and Marketing Plan – Are the client attraction (marketing/advertising) and revenue targets (quotas) defined?
Operations Plan – Are all the moving parts ready to meet the promises conveyed in the sales orders?
Finance Management – Are the metrics in place to measure performance so adjustments can be made as results accumulate?
Each of these elements needs a full review and complete engagement of the leadership to strengthen the framework of your business. Gaps in your framework lead to added problems, challenges and erode profits.
