Memorial Day
We are at a critical crossroad in our nation. Our veterans from the great wars are dying and the trend of diminishing their sacrifice for the future of this once great nation are more evident each day.
We dont even have to look back at older veterans. Young men and women continue to pay the ultimate sacrifice of giving of their own life to protect our freedoms.
There are many that take these freedoms for granted and in some cases want to adopt ideals of other parts of the world as norms here in the USA.
Im not against having the openness that built this great nation and allowed my ancestors to give up their homeland to start a better life here on this soil. The different is that they came here to contribute rather than take of the riches of this great nation.
This memorial day everyone needs to remember what this day actually means. It is not the start of summer. It is not the first long weekend to open up the cottage. It is not that extra day of shopping the specials at the local big box store.
This weekend is about stopping and listening to your heart and soul. Remembering and memorializing those that have passed before us. Giving of themselves for the betterment of all of us. It is about understanding what standing up for what is Right vs. Wrong and not diluting so that people can take with out contributing.
Our fallen soldiers did not take. They gave!
Maybe it is about time our nation stopped the taking attitude and listened to our hearts. Feel the heartbeat of national pride based on the opportunity given to each of us by those no longer here to remind us that once it is gone, it can not be recovered.
