Midyear Review
Almost half way through the calendar year for 2015. So where do you stand in relation to the goals and objectives you set your business and yourself?
Back at the end of 2014, you should have set in motion business and personal objectives for 2015. With almost 6 months of the year under our belt, it is time to do a review of your performance. Are you on track to realize your planned goals?
This process cannot be taken lightly. If you are on track, then understand what has worked to support that results. Ask yourself if you can increase that type of action to realize even better results over the next 6 months.
If your results are not meeting with your objectives, then dig in to find out why. What has changed? What unknown elements presented themselves which might have caused you to fall sort. Maybe it was nothing you did not account for but more about not executing to the plan.
Did your team really understand the plan? Did they understand what it would take to accomplish the plan? Was their effort in alignment with the plan demands?
The objective behind this review is to make and take corrective action now so that you can curb any lost efforts and rebuild so that future actions are back on track.
Review your revenues, expenses, ratios, staffing plans, marketing efforts etc.
Each of these should have metrics which you can measure against on a weekly, monthly or some time cycle. You can not manage it if you are not measuring it. You would therefore be guessing.
This week take the time to start collecting your measurement values. Set aside a time in July to review all the numbers and re-plan as needed. You may not need a new plan just maybe to get refocused on the original plan.
