The distraction is over–please return to work…
After too long of a political season…, (thank goodness winter does not last that long) the voters have spoken.
It is hard to place a direct financial number on the impact this election has had on non-productive time in the workplace, but it sure appeared to be greater than past national elections.
Regardless of who you voted for or who won the race for leadership of the nation, congress, state, city, local etc. it is now time to get back to working on building your business. None of the elected will be able to have the level of productive impact on the success of your business as you can in the next 100 days.
So that being said, what 100 day plan do you have to incrementally move your business to a better position in the marketplace?
100 days from today, your reading of this information puts you at Friday, February 17, 2017. Now back out a few days for the holidays and let’s say the target is Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
What can you and your team do that can have a productive impact on your business?
Is your 2017 business plan complete and ready to roll out?
Is there an opportunity to integrate from technology to make workflow in your business more streamlined and cost effective?
Are you missing out on sales opportunities because your customer service has become average and clients are drifting away to the competition?
Do you have the right people in the best roles to leverage their talents?
Are there communication gaps between your team members which slow down taking care of your customers which need priority attention to resolve?
This week your team should have some time around the water cooler to stop talking about the election and share some quality input with you about how to improve your business. Set some parameters – 100 days, low cost (set a budget), touching the greatest number of staff etc.
What ever your performance guidelines are, get them out there and let your staff give you input. Set a timeline for collection and then another due date for formulation of the plan to put into action.
Then get moving – your 100 days has already started and March 1, 2017 will be here faster than the next round of political banter in your office.
